Our Curriculum
One seamless learning journey from Nursery to Grade 10 — the NEP 2020 5+3+3+2 pathway where joyful play grows into board-exam mastery.
Where Learning Begins with Joy
The Foundational Stage (Nursery, LKG, UKG, Grades 1 & 2) is a nurturing, vibrant space that gives young learners a strong and joyful start. Following the CBSE framework, we adopt the Play Way Methodology — hands-on activities, games, stories, music, art and movement — for the holistic development of every child: emotionally, mentally, physically and socially.
"Learning is fun and joyful at Swamy Vivekanandha Central School" — what our parents tell us.
Key learning areas of the Foundational Stage
Strong Roots in Literacy & Numeracy
Aligned with NEP 2020 and NIPUN Bharat, the Preparatory Stage builds on foundational learning and strengthens Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) while gradually introducing structured, subject-based learning. Activity-based, experiential and inquiry-driven classrooms make the move from play to formal learning feel natural.
Key learning areas of the Preparatory Stage
Deep Concepts, Curious Minds
The Middle Stage deepens conceptual understanding and marks the transition to subject specialisation. Grades 6–8 follow a balanced programme of English, Kannada, Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science with well-designed skill subjects — competency-based, experiential and inquiry-driven, so students analyse, question, experiment and apply.
Key learning areas of the Middle Stage
Depth, Discipline & Board Readiness
The Secondary Stage focuses on academic depth, critical thinking, life skills and future readiness — preparing students for CBSE Board Examinations, higher-education pathways and responsible citizenship. The curriculum is competency-based and learner-centred, blending classroom instruction with projects, practical work and real-life application.

How We Assess & Support
Across all four stages, assessment measures growth — not just marks. Children are observed, guided and encouraged so that every learner moves forward with confidence.
Continuous
Ongoing, low-pressure assessment woven into everyday learning — no fear, no cramming.
Competency-Based
Understanding, application and skills matter more than rote memorisation — fully aligned with NEP 2020 and CBSE reforms.
Growth-Focused
Individual attention, positive reinforcement and regular feedback help every child grow at their own pace.
